Let’s be honest and upfront, because you know that’s what I’m all about. Podcast reviews are super important to iTunes and the more reviews we rece...

Hey. Welcome to the new School of Marketing podcast. I'm Bianca McKenzie, and this is the place where we break down marketing strategies that actually work without the overwhelm.

Before we dive in, I want to acknowledge the traditional owners of the land I live and work on, the Palawa people of Lutruwita. I pay my respect to elders past and present and acknowledge the deep connection they have to this land, culture and community.

All right, now dive in and make marketing work for you.

Right, let's be real for a moment.

If you've ever been told, just show up online, be consistent or build, know alike and trust, and then been left wondering what that even means.

This one is for you. And sorry, I probably contributed to that because I often say, be consistent, build, know, like and trust.

But today, we're calling up the vague marketing advice that's left too many brilliant business owners spinning their wheels and wondering. I'm showing up, so why am I not getting any sales?

Because you know what? We don't need more fluffy advice.

You need clarity about what actually drives conversions and how you can turn your content into a sales system, even if you're diying it.

So if you're tired of doing all the things with no results to show for, let's fix it.

All right, first up, what showing up actually misses.

You've probably heard it a million times. Just show up online.

And yes, consistency matters, visibility matters, and being present builds trust.

But here's the truth that often gets left out.

If you're showing up without a strategy, you're just staying busy. You're not building momentum, you're building exhaustion.

You post, you engage, maybe even go live if you're brave enough.

But I know you keep wondering, you know, why aren't people clicking? Why isn't anyone buying? What am I doing wrong? And it's not you. It really isn't.

It's just that vague advice that skipped the how part.

So what drives conversions? And it's literally not just pretty posts. It's absolutely not just pretty posts. So let's flip the script.

Your content isn't just there to exist online.

It has a job. It needs to have a job.

And its Job is to meet, to move people closer to working with you.

So here's what actually makes content convert.

Number one is attract.

You need to get the right people paying attention, and that means you need to hook them in with relevance.

You need to speak directly to their pain or to their dreams or to their values.

And you need to use clear messaging.

It's super important. So the first one is attracting, getting the right people paying attention.

The next one is nurturing.

And this is the know, like trust phase, but with a purpose.

It's not just, you know, putting something online.

So you're educating them about the problem that you solve.

You show them why your solution matters, and you're helping them believe that it can work for them.

And testimonials is a massive one here.

So you need to show them all of these things, like educate them about what you do, show them why it matters.

And then you need to help them believe that it can actually work for them. And this is going to build desire, not just awareness. I know we talk about awareness a lot and marketing is a lot about awareness, but the next pieces are just as important.

Building desire, not just awareness.

And then the next step is you need to invite them. And this is where many people fall down.

Like, you might be attracting them, you might be nurturing them a little bit, plus. But if you don't ask for the sale, it's not going to happen.

Or sometimes if you do, it's kind of buried and vague.

You need a clear, strong invitation to, to book, to buy, to sign up, to reach out. You need to tell people what to do. I know, it's horrible because, like, you know, it's one of those things.

Isn't it obvious? No. A lot of people, it's actually, to a lot of people, it's not obvious.

If you are constantly like in the awareness space and offering value and nurturing, a lot of people kind of go, cool, thanks, thanks, thanks.

They might not even know that you have something to sell.

Sales don't happen by osmosis.

They literally happen through intentional action.

You need to ask for the sale.

So I see that people in two camps, they're either like, awareness, awareness, awareness, awareness. And they don't like really ask for the sale, or I get the people in the sell, sell, sell, sell.

And they wonder why they're not making any sales, but it's because they're actually not doing that nurturing part.

So you need both. You need to attract, nurture, and then invite.

Okay, the next one is building a simple sales system.

And you don't need a big team or like a whole complicated funnel. You can do this yourself. It's like you can build this yourself.

Making your marketing work smarter is building a system.

Your first step is to have a clear offer. One clear offer, Just one.

Make sure people know what you sell and that they want it.

If you're not getting any sales, this is the first place you need to make sure that people know what you sell.

You know, tell them what do you sell?

And you need to know that they want it.

And there's a lot of like forums and like Reddit is a really good one to find out what people are struggling with or what they want solutions for.

Go and find if you know people actually want what you sell and you need to actually be able to tell them that you sell that as well.

Okay. The next step is map out your customer journey.

Every single piece of content should move someone through these three stages.

Firstly, awareness is where they discover you. Secondly, consideration, it's where they learn from you.

And then the third one is conversion and that's when they decide to buy.

So ask yourself, what content helps them find me.

What content builds trust and then what content invites action.

The next step is to focus on one platform and do it well.

You don't need to be on Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, LinkedIn and Pinterest.

You don't have to be on all of these platforms.

Pick one, just pick one.

Show up with purpose and then repurpose what is working. You don't need to reinvent the wheel all the time either.

Show up on one platform, learn what's working and keep repurposing that same message, different packaging in a way. Like it could be the same caption with a different image or video, same message, different words.

You'd be literally. It's like repeating yourself, but in a different way.

Step number four is you need to reuse and repurpose.

Take what's working and double down.

Turn an email into a post, turn a post into a reel, turn a podcast into a blog.

Stay consistent without burning out.

You can literally have the same content and use it in different platforms, or not even platforms marketing channels, because you know email should be one.

You don't have to have a podcast, you can have just a blog, but you can use it in different ways.

So if you've been showing up and not seeing results, it's not that you're doing it wrong, it's that you haven't been given the full picture.

Your content can and should convert.

If you're doing it right, it can and should convert.

You can build a marketing system that works for you, for your strengths, your schedule, your goals.

And if you're ready to turn your content into a real lead and sales generating machine, I would love to help you.

And that's exactly what I do. Inside the Sales Accelerator.

It is a personalized video review where I go deep into your current marketing.

So I look at your socials, your website, your offer, your content, your funnel and show you exactly what's working, what's missing and how to fix it for more sales.

If you're keen to book one of these accelerators with me, go to new school of marketing.com/accelerate and that's where you can book it.

Because honestly, you do not need more noise.

You just need a clear path forward. You just need some fresh eyes on your channels, on your marketing, on your strategy, and some tweaks. You might just need a few tweaks and like, you'll be off.

So thank you so much for tuning in to this episode.

I hope it was helpful.

And until next time, keep marketing your business every day.
